Well, in the past I used it as a tool so people could get forum posts on their own forum.

I would advertise via paid social media promotions, but they would have to be huge because it's very tough to get visitors to leave social media.

These days even a basic VPS package comes with $20 or more per month. If you try to run on VPS, it will come as a liability if your site is small. For small forums or websites, shared hosting is ok. However, you need to aim for better package, with more resources.

The premium content would need to be spectacular. One example is offering them something significant to help SEO. For instance, in the 2010s, some guy was offering edu backlinks from Peru in exchange for a lot of posting on his forum.
