Most new moderators learn on the job, which can be overwhelming. Have you used shadowing, mock scenarios, or staged practice threads to ease them in? What helped them grow confident without risking real conflicts early on? Would love to hear training systems that actually work.

I start new mods with observation and shadowing existing team members. Letting them review flagged content, discuss potential actions, and practice in low-stakes threads builds confidence. Gradually assigning real responsibilities while providing feedback helps them learn without feeling overwhelmed or risking mistakes in live situations.
