I think it can help. Recognizing members who mediate disputes or promote constructive discussion encourages a positive culture. It signals that resolving conflicts respectfully is valued, not just posting content, which can improve overall community behavior and make forums more welcoming.

I don't think ordinary or regular community members should be involved in any kind of conflict resolution in the community. This is because it is not their job. The only thing they can do is to report a post or a member that causing problem and let the moderation team step in to sort out the problem.
