The wrong platform can limit future expansion. Some admins prioritize features while others want stability or easy updates. What factors guided your decision? Did you outgrow your first platform? Which features proved essential once your community started growing?

For the long-term, I look at stability first. Some software is quite good in the beginning but updates kill it in the future. I have used such forum software before. I dump it out of frustration. I also deemed it fit to check the community support too. If the developers and users are active, that is a good sign.

I don't think it really matters what you choose. Instead, it's about the passion you put into whatever project.
