Re: XenForo vs Flarum: Which One Has Better Long-Term Potential?
There is absolutely no way you can compare Xenforo with Flarun. The differences so clear. Xenforo is a widely used premium forum software that has a plug and play features. It's probably the best we have around for now.

Re: Self Hosting on a VPS
Self-hosting on VPS is a whole new level. You get better speed, better security, and full access, which is good. But you must know a lot about Linux and if you don't, you should be ready to watch plenty of YouTube tutorials.

Re: When Shared Hosting Becomes a Problem
Shared hosting is very okay when your forum is till very small, but once traffic start to increase, that's when you would need to upgrade to a better package. Sudden slowdowns, CPU limit warnings, or your host sending you email are the signs that your present host can't handle the traffic any more

Re: How Do You Decide When It’s Time to Switch Hosting for Your Forum?

Re: How to Choose the Right Forum Software for Long-Term Community Growth
For the long-term, I look at stability first. Some software is quite good in the beginning but updates kill it in the future. I have used such forum software before. I dump it out of frustration. I also deemed it fit to check the community support too. If the developers and users are active, that is ...

MyBB vs phpBB; Which One Do You Prefer?
This one is interesting because both platforms has their own strengths. MyBB is very easy to customize and the theme options are nice too. phpBB on the other hand is very stable, secure and has many extensions to choose from.
For me, MyBB feels more simple to manage. PhpBB is ok too but sometimes ...

What’s the Best Web Hosting for Small Forums?
For a small forum that is not heavy, you don't need anything too wild. A good shared hosting or small VPS can work effectively as long as the host does not oversell. I’ve used Namecheap and Hostinger for small forums before and they worked perfectly fine.
