Can Small Forums Compete with Big Communities Like Reddit?

Post by Serene »

Reddit dominates many niches, but small forums can still thrive. How do you position a smaller platform to attract loyal users? Do you focus on superior moderation, niche-specific features, or better community culture? What strategies help retain members when competing with massive platforms?

Small forums can compete by focusing on niche topics and building tight-knit communities. While traffic may be smaller, quality interactions and member retention can make a forum successful despite scale differences.

It's not possible for small forums to compete with with bigger boards like Reddit. I don't even get why any small forum owner would be thinking about being in competition with Reddit or any social media sites? It's a lost fight before it even started.
