Do You Address Warning-Worthy Behavior Publicly or Privately?
Do You Address Warning-Worthy Behavior Publicly or Privately?
Some admins leave quiet notes. Others make public statements to set clear expectations. What has worked better for you? I am curious to know whether public reminders help prevent future issues or just embarrass members.
Re: Do You Address Warning-Worthy Behavior Publicly or Privately?
I usually handle warning-worthy behavior privately. Publicly calling someone out can escalate tensions or embarrass members unnecessarily. A private approach allows moderators to explain concerns, guide behavior, and maintain community harmony without creating conflict or drawing unwanted attention to the issue.
