Should Warning Systems Be Visible or Hidden?
Should Warning Systems Be Visible or Hidden?
Visible warnings signal accountability but may embarrass members. Hidden warnings preserve dignity but reduce deterrence. Which is more effective?
Re: Should Warning Systems Be Visible or Hidden?
I think visible warnings work better. When members see that rules are enforced, it can discourage repeat issues and make expectations clear. Hidden warnings might prevent embarrassment, but they don’t teach the broader community what behavior is acceptable, so transparency usually helps maintain order.
Re: Should Warning Systems Be Visible or Hidden?
I don't think it is necessary for the warning system to be visible for all members too see because some people might actually take advantage of that and try to antagonize people that have received multiple warnings to the point where they are going to receive the one that is going to have their account suspended or banned.
