Do Donation Drives Still Work for Community Sites or Are They Outdated?
Some forums still succeed with voluntary donations, others say members ignore them. If you have run donation campaigns, what made them effective? Timing? Transparency? Rewards? I am curious to know how viable this model is today.

I haven't tried it but I think donation drives can still work if the community sees clear value and trust in the platform. Transparency about how funds are used and offering small perks or recognition might help. Without that, people may ignore them, so presentation and purpose matter more than ever.
