How Do You Define a ‘Lost Cause’ User vs Someone Worth Coaching?
Almost every forum has members who constantly test limits. How do you tell whether someone just needs guidance or is there to stir trouble? What signs help you decide whether to invest time in them or cut ties?
Re: How Do You Define a ‘Lost Cause’ User vs Someone Worth Coaching?
I define a lost cause as a user who repeatedly disrupts the community despite guidance and warnings. Someone worth coaching shows potential to follow rules, engage respectfully, and improve over time. Investing effort in the latter strengthens the forum, while persistent troublemakers drain resources and harm the environment.
